Skabetti

Since young, one of my favourite food has always been spaghetti. When I chance upon any Italian restaurant, spaghetti bolognese would be my first choice unless for some bizarre reason that it's not on the menu. I would also judge the rest of the cuisine base on how well their spaghetti bolognese turns out to be. 

Naturally, home cooked spaghetti remains the only dish I can confidently prepare. A recipe imparted from my mum who learned it from her friend. LV grew to enjoy spaghetti as well. 

LV had always pronounced spaghetti correctly with no issues... until recently. Last week she called out to me saying she wants to eat skabetti. It took me a while to figure out she meant spaghetti. I'm clueless how spaghetti turned into skabetti given that all this while, she had no issues saying spaghetti o___o

So yesterday, I cooked spaghetti for dinner. Later at night, I asked her to say spaghetti.

"Skabetti"

(hubby starts chuckling at his PC)

So I went syllable by syllable. Spa. Ghe. Ti. 

"Spa. Ghe. Ti.". LV echoes perfectly. 

"Spaghetti" I said at one go. 

"Skabetti" She says. 

(hubby starts chuckling louder)

After repeated attempts and yielding the same results, both Steven and I just burst into laughter, Steven of amusement, me partly of anguish. LV huffs "WHAT'S SO FUNNY?"

Steven laughs harder and proceeds to give LV a big cuddle. 

A few minutes later, she manages to say Spaghetti albeit not consistently. 

So I asked, "What did you have for dinner tonight?"

"Apple", she responded. I did an imaginary face-palm and asked, "What did you have before the apple?". "Apple", she repeats. 

I guess I'll try again today :P

Total Blur Moment of the Day

And it's only 8.25 AM. Getting onto the Penchala Link, I realised that my office tag wasn't hanging on the mirror in the car. I was like dammit, I'd have to take the visitor's pass and pay meals with cash. (The night before, my pass was kept in my gym bag as I had dance class after work)

I pondered whether I require anything from my cabinet today, as the keys are with the pass. Then as I pulled into the office parking lot, again, dammit, I do need something from my cabinet. Therefore, I have to at least go back home during lunch hour to pick up my keys (pass).

It was only when I got out of the car I realised.. I've been wearing my tag the whole time. When did I put it on? Where was it? Until now, I haven't got a clue.

In my haste this morning to send him an e-card, I accidentally sent it to the wrong e-mail. Goodness knows if that e-mail address exists.. xD But I heard gmail doesn't allow underscores, so I may be safe from embarrassment :D

Just two weeks ago I celebrated my birthday. ^^ I get younger each year :D

Becareful what you wish for..

Funny, just about two days ago I was wishing to have a day off to sleep in. Yesterday, I overslept :P Usually, I'm off to work by 7.15AM during Ramadan. I woke up at 7.20AM.

In addition, I had to drop by the ATM to get some cash to exchange for new notes, which was something I had to do between 8 - 10AM. The new notes is for raya. What's raya? See here.

Yesterday evening was rather interesting. We (the new trainees) were having some buka puasa event, and there were VVIPs. So we were assigned places onto three tables, where one VVIP was seated at each. I'm not assigned to the most VVIP of them, and I felt rather funny and somewhat underperforming. That's because sometimes.. or most times, I'm rather critical of myself and always want to look the best. (One of the ways is like being assigned to the most important table). Anyhow, blessing in disguise, since my table's VVIP had to leave early, and most of the others too, except the most VVIP, I get to leave early too :D

So? Becareful what you wish for ;)

Where have I been?

One word: BUSY.

I've been on my work's 6-month training programme (in week 4 now), sailing on weekends, and entertaining a special guest. Technically, I have no time for anything else.

To top it all off: I forgot my pw to this acct. So it took me a while to fix that :P

But as they say, a new broom sweeps clean. This blog may be turning into an old broom now. But regardless, it's still my channel for random blabber. ;D

Result of Two Homes

One week prior to the wedding, up to yesterday, I was staying in Rudy's old room in P16. Now that things are more calmer, I opted to stay in Surian yesterday. So, tonight we had tickets to watch Red Cliff 2 at 9.10 pm. Since Rudy lives nearby, and it being a late movie, I wanted to hitch a ride with him, as I rather not drive alone at night. At about 7.30 pm we talked on the phone to reconfirm our plans, and he told me that they're planning to leave the house at 8 pm. So at about 8 pm, I got ready, and was pretty much ready to go at 5 minutes past 8.

Events:
8.13 pm (approx)
Fai nee-chan called to say that they're arriving soon. So I went downstairs to wait.

7 minutes later
Still no sign of them, I wandered back an forth around the lobby.

8.20 pm
Rudy called.
Rudy: Where are you?
Me: Where am I? Where are you?
Rudy: Downstairs lah.
Me: I'm also downstairs, near Block B. (at that time I wandered towards Block B, while in Surian I stay in Block C, but Block B in P16)
Rudy: Why aren't you near the benches?
Me: What benches? (There aren't any in Surian)

It didn't occur to me right away, but they just realised that they were picking me up in P16 while I was at Surian...

Lesson learnt, we're not gonna assume things anymore xD

S.A.D. is not Sad

Eh, but I can be sad anyway. lol, now I sound emo too.

Anyway, S.A.D., initially meant to be Single, Available, Desperate...

It then was adjusted to Single, Available, Desireable (just to not sound desperate)

Anyways, since then, all sorts of variations came up to suit different situations or statuses of people. For example, for those 'not single', they go by Super/Sexy/Smart, whatever...

Usually it's positive. But today I just thought of a negative of that. Stupid, Absent-minded, Dreadful. I actually thought of different er.. adjectives? for A and D, but I forgot them. But they work. Now that I put more thought into it, there's so many ways to use S.A.D. as an acronym.

Hehe, I'm a very confused person now...

On the plus side, CYCA's Australian Youth Match Racing Regatta is done, and I experienced a lot helping out the race committee. Despite coming home really tired, sore and burnt, no regrets there... Especially with all the new opportunities present. Should be awesome.

Now, back to work.

Just Another Day

As the day for me to leave for Australia comes.. it feels like routine by now. Just another day coming by. Another flight. Spending more days in Australia... until goodness knows when.

Audrey was home to greet me ^_^ I hope I didn't wake her up tho.. flight arrived at about 7 am Sydney time... that's like 4 am :K

Anyhow, funny things that happened:

Checking in, everything was fine, my bag weighed about 21 kg.. still good.. everything seems well, till he passed me my passport + boarding pass, send my luggage off, and i walked away. Barely five steps away, I stopped and stared at the boarding pass. It had an almost identical surname on it, and a totally different first name. Basically, it wasn't me XP Took them awhile to fix things up, luckily that person whose name was on *my* boarding pass was also checking in the same time... Imagine if i didn't notice it at all till I attempt to go through immigration.

And today =) Just feels like another day... for me at least ;)

Sunnies Sucks XD

Did I mention, I bought a pair of sunnies while I was in Brisbane? x)

On the 11th, we flew over to Brisbane, spent a day over there, shopped a bit, Direct Factory Outlet~ oooo

I bought a pair of sunnies to replace the one that I left on the Kuranda Train.

Today, I broke that pair of sunnies in Gold Coast x)
